"This book is a work by Kikuko Yamane, which introduces "The Tomb of Christ in Tokura Village" and also mentions ancient civilizations and ancient Japanese characters. It is a well-known fact that this book played the most significant role in the formation of the legend of the Tomb of Christ in Tokura Village, Aomori Prefecture. Of course, as is well known, the discovery of "The Tomb of Christ in Tokura Village" itself was not by Kikuko Yamane. It dates back to August 1935, two years before the publication of this book, when a group led by Kyoma Takeuchi visited Tokura Village. However, Kyoma Takeuchi's visit in 1935 was a secret investigation based on a document that was not to be made public, and it was necessary for this book, which included detailed field research and verification by Kikuko Yamane, to appear in order for the "legend" to become established.
This book was published in 1937 and immediately banned and recalled. A revised edition was subsequently published, but it became extremely difficult to obtain. Even among the revised editions, there is a version published in two volumes in 1939. The "Shakyamuni's Volume" of this version has about 80 pages more content than the first edition.
Therefore, our company has completely reprinted the first edition banned book, and as a supplement, we have included the 80 pages of the Shakyamuni section that were added in the 1939 version, as well as a short piece titled "New Interpretation of the Great Prayer of the Heavenly Blessing." We have strived for perfection in all aspects.
Many people, due to the book's notoriety as the original source of the Tokura Village Christ legend, think that it only deals with the arrival of Christ. However, it is actually composed of four parts: "The Christ Volume," "The Joseph Volume," "The Moses Volume," and "The Shakyamuni Volume." It is a record of field research and outstanding verification, full of inspiration for the strange places of Japan, such as the Christ ruins in Tokura Village, Aomori Prefecture, the Tomb of Joseph in the sacred grounds of Mount Oyama Afuri Shrine, the Triple Tomb of Moses sleeping at the foot of Mount Hodatsu in Noto, and the sacred area centered on Mount Minami in Shinano, where the Tomb of Shakyamuni exists, which has traditionally received little attention. It could be said that it is a book of the underworld journey that traces back the memories of the ancient gods sealed in the Japanese archipelago. We highly recommend this book to anyone interested in ancient history and the history of the gods, as a must-have for their bookshelf.
